First Power the units on by long pressing the AXIL Faceplate. Highlighted in green and blue. 
To change modes, you press the rectangle button. 
The mode you are in will be indicated by voice notification. "Protection Mode" Or "Hearing Enancement Mode.
*Hearing Protection Mode:
Compresses all sounds over 85 dB.
Gives you about 5 dB gain
*Hearing Enhancement Mode:
Compresses all sounds over 105 dB
Gives you about 15 dB gain
*Has seven volume levels in each mode
