The GS Extreme has a small amount of static, which indicates that the sound enhancement is on. This white noise should not be too noticeable. 

Here are some options to try:

First, try inserting the earbuds in your ear and then turning them on. When both are turned on, they'll squeal if they're too close. If that doesn't work, try some of the different size tips. If there's not a correct seal in your ear, it may be moving around, causing feedback.
